So I have finally gotten to posting a new blog so long in the making I know but things have been a little hectic after we got back from vacation. Any how where did I leave off..... somewhere in Virgina?

I guess that is where I'll begin after we said goodbye to Lolita we headed off for Maine again and after driving for about 18 or so hours we arrived in the wee hours of the morning, Nadia had waited up for us so we chatted with her awhile before crashing. The next day we drove up to Wisscasset to see cousin Juan and wife Sarah, Grandma and Grandpa Brown, cousin Tyson, Aunt Narda, cousin Tasha the whole lot:) It was so fabulous seeing everyone. We stayed with Juan and Sarah and did a little kyaking down the Sheepscott river, BBQ'ed, went swimming in a beautiful lake, basically a lot of family time which was really nice. After the visit there we headed on our way down to Portland to stay with Nadia an Rob a couple days. We canoed out into a marsh which was very peaceful but alot of hard work! I had never paddled against a current like that; we had to rush it on the way back since the shop where we rented the canoes from was closing. On our way home we had to stop and pick some strawberries (see pics above) they were so delicous. We also got to get some new fish for Nadia and Rob's tank, it was really quite fun to pick out the fish you want and introduce him to a new water world. The fish are aptly named Jordan and Alex...... I really enjoyed feeding the fish almost to much actually, I found it quite entertaining to toss bits of food into the tank to see if they would eat it.
On Sunday we had to say goodbye to Maine and the next adventure would be New York. We made it down there in about 6 hours and then promptly got lost. Alex swears the signs were stolen....hmm. We finally found a hotel in Jersey and stayed there the night the next morning we hopped a train over to the city. It is amazing to think how many people live there. We rode the subway all over that city hitting all the touristy spots. ie Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, Ground Zero by the end of the day we were tired and ready to find the next sight we found our car amazingly without any problem and scooted down the road to Washington DC. The capital was a big difference from NYC but a big city in its own way we had fun checking out the Smithsonian, the capitol building, the national monument, the white house. I was surprised by all the joggers running around the front lawn (doesn't anyone have a job around here, I was thinking this). My favorite place was the next big stop on the map Nag's head North Carolina and the outer banks, could have stayed there much longer, alas it wasn't so for after 6 hours there it was in the car again all the way down to Florida after a couple days in Disney world we unfortunately had to board a plan for home :( I could have done alot more traveling another couple weeks at least. oh well I guess now I should plan the next one !!!

Vacation tibits II

Alex and me at Old Orchard Beach in Portland Maine
Wow look at all this chocolate!!
Picking strawberries with Nadia and Rob Yummy!
I absolutely love the beach here in Nags Head North Carolina
I had to cut the last posting a little short because we were going through Beaufort North Carolina and suddenly we were losing service. Anyhow this posting will be short as we have just arrived in Orlando Florida and we are getting ready to go to sleep so we have energy to have some fun in Disneyworld. I thought I'd post some pictures though so here you go and I'll finish my posting a little later xoxo jordan

Vacation tibits

Well as far as updating goes I don't really know where to begin..I guess the beginning?
We started our journey with really nothing happening out of the ordinary, Drill bit Taylor was the inflight movie and while I did peek at it I really didn't watch it again. When we landed in Florida the humidity hit us like a brick wall but as we waded through it over to the luggage claim and car rental counter we adjusted ( by this time I was getting imatient to get out of the airport). We got our car and started on our way we had to turn around as the low tire light came on and we figured when we were going several thousand miles it might be best to have all tires in workng order :) buy the time we were on way it was 1:00 am, Alex had stopped by a Wal-mart to buy expresso shots to keep him up all night I got some rice cakes and salsa and we headed off, Maine or bust. I started getting sleepy after a couple hours so I fell semi- asleep; when I woke up we were in Georgia getting gas at 4:00 am. Basically that is how the first 14 hours went by ( I would like to note that South Carolina has prestine rest stops by the way I was rather impressed by what I saw). 2pm we rolled into Chesapeake Virgina got a quick shower before Lolita came over to show us the sights of the surrounding parts.

Time to relax...

Yes!! Vacation is finally here. It is such a relief to take a break from the everyday life and experience a little more that this wonderful world has to offer. I started my vacation off right with a bowl of oatmeal and a conversation with my mom..hmm next I have to pack, get my arms waxed and redo my toenail polish; little things I know but needed just the same. I have tried to list all of our items that are needed, its funny how the little things that you use often are very likely the items that you forget (my list includes tweezers, razors, and shampoo .. I wonder what I'm forgetting?).

To update you on the weekend we had a couple items happen. On Friday night I decided to do a natural gallbladder cleanse (complete with olive oil and grapefruit juice). It was interesting expericene and went very smoothly to say the least, :) I did get rid of approx 35-40 stones ranging in size from a grape to the size of rice grains.. I feel better; not totally but I'm getting there. Saturday didn't do to much for the reason mentioned above but did clean the house a bit and watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". on Saturday night my sis-in-law Lani rolled in (very nice to see her its been quite a few months) we chatted it up until 2:30 in the morning, catching up on lots of lifes detail, needless to say we didn't rise very early the next morning. But we did manage to catch a movie "wanted" on the way out of town the next day, as well as some israeli food and veggie sushi.

We went up to rimrock and had a very nice dinner with Lynette and Romeo, and then we had to hurry home so we could get to work the next morning.

On Tuesday, decided to to try to make my own sushi. I must say it is quite delicous and pretty easy to make (I would say sushi is like a Japanese version of a burrito) I must say that vinegar sauce that is mixed with the rice is an excellent dipping sauce and I also like pickled ginger as well, both of these ingredients add alot of flavor. Lani made an excellent inside out version with is basically the nori wrapped up inside the wrap instead of it being on the outside. Anyhow I think I must wrap this up, I have to get going on the packing wow I can hardly wait. I'll keep everyone updated - love you all
